From my soul to your soul
Liberating expression of vulnerability and catharsis
" He who does not cry does not see. " Victor Hugo
" Those who cry are those who know ." Maurice Maeterlinck
" What they - tears - bring forth [...] would be nothing less than aletheia, the truth of the eyes. " Jacques Derrida
" To cry is to be capable of emotion, it is to still be in humanity ." Sarah Kane
To seek a gaze is to seek a connection, genuine attention, a reciprocal presence. The gaze here calls, questions, hopes. It seeks to meet the other, where they are still alive, still touched. It is not a question of becoming accustomed to the violence of the world but of refusing the anesthesia of the sensitive. The face, the epicenter of our identity, appears here almost totally depersonalized. It fades, dissolves to achieve a form of universal intimacy.
We are sensitive beings capable of feelings, pain, and love. This is what unites us. Crying, expressing what is going through us, the wounds within, is an essential force of life, a resistance. It is already healing a little.
This assumed fragility becomes a space of transformation, of letting go which opens the way to a liberating catharsis where emotion becomes a power of connection.
